The Day
It was a pleasure to be invited to capture the very special Yorkshire Wedding of James & Queen last month. I began the morning getting ready with the bridal party. Wedding mornings can often be quite busy and hectic so it was really lovely to enjoy such a peaceful start to the day! Cleo Stoute Artistry was on hand for the stunning hair and make up. Queen then made her way to the venue in a gorgeous classic Rolls Royce wedding car.
The Ceremony
The morning had started with a downpour, but the forecast predicted clear skies by midday and thankfully (for once), it was right. I got into my car to travel to the church carrying an umbrella for the rain, and arrived 15 minutes later to bright blue sky and sunshine – clearly this wedding was made to be!
The service itself was full of emotion with readings from loved ones. There were lots of opportunities to capture some stunning images of the newly weds. After a quiet moment in the church as a newly married couple and some family photographs outside in the sun, we headed back to Middleton Lodge for the rest of the day’s fun.
The Reception
We celebrated with a confetti walk-out as guests enjoyed the sunshine and canapés. James & Queen hung around as the winter sun set early to enjoy photographs in an incredible golden-hour light. The sun dropped low to the horizon and revealed a super cinematic, hazy glow. These images could have come straight out of the movies and I am absolutely delighted with how they turned out.
After being seated in the gorgeous Fig House, guests were treated to stunning wedding breakfast. Glasses were then charged for a round of hilarious and heartfelt speeches.
We kicked off the evening’s festivities by cutting their beautiful wedding cake. This was followed by their first dance as DJ Manny got the party started! Queen changed into a shimmering evening gown and we captured some high-fashion outdoor night photographs worthy of Vogue, before she surprised her guests with the new outfit.
Everyone partied long into the night. With the festivities in such full swing we didn’t pack away until nearly 11pm. With all our wedding bookings being for a completely full day, you never have to worry about any moments being missed. And there’s no hidden extra charge to stay late!
