Elenya & Ita’s Rudding Park North Yorkshire Wedding
Elena & Ita recently got married at the stunning Rudding Park and what an incredible day it was! Rudding Park is the picture perfect spot for a beautiful Yorkshire wedding. It’s a Grade 1 listed luxurious Spa hotel and Golf Resort in the gorgeous countryside of North Yorkshire, just outside the historic town of Harrogate. I regularly photograph Rudding Park weddings and can attest you’re in great hands with their fantastic team!

The Day
It was a pleasure to be invited to capture the very special Yorkshire Wedding of Elenya & Ita in the summer. The sun was shining from the very start of the day (I almost broke my ‘no shorts at a wedding’ rule!)
We began with a relaxed morning in the dressing suite. Wedding mornings can often be quite busy and hectic so it was lovely to enjoy such a peaceful start to the day. Jenn Edwards & Co did a fantastic job with hair and make up!
Rudding Park is more than able to accommodate both parties’ preparations seamlessly, so while the bride squad were in their dressing suite, the groomsmen were also on site putting the final touches to their suits and ties. This means I was able to flit between both parties really easily and capture lots of moments they’re able to treasure forever, from parts of the day the other person wouldn’t ever otherwise get to see.

The Ceremony
The ceremony itself was actually held over two parts. Rudding Park has an incredible on-site chapel which can be used for blessing ceremonies after your legal registrar’s service. This meant that Elenya & Ita were able to have their legal ceremony in the stunning Radcliffe Room, before heading over to the 19th Century chapel for a blessing ceremony. The couple have Finnish heritage, and as an extra special touch, had invited a Finnish vicar to lead the service, incorporating parts of the blessing in both English and Finnish.
Then there was the confetti walk-out and as guests enjoyed the sunshine and canapés, This was followed by a selection of family formals and some bridal portraits of the new Mr and Mrs Ekhaletruo with the stunning grounds of Rudding Park as the backdrop. I was joined throughout the day by the fantastic John Pank who was capturing the day on video. Though I’m not sure we were to be trusted with the golf buggies as there may have been some high-speed cinematic footage captured!
The Reception
Guests were treated to a round of speeches filled with love and laughter, before the wedding breakfast began.
We kicked off the evening’s festivities by cutting the wedding cake (courtesy of the fantastic Poppy Pickering Cakes). This was followed by Elena & Ita taking to the floor for their first dance!
Finally, we were treated to the most incredible golden hour of sunlight for bridal portraits.
The sun dropped low to the horizon and revealed epic scenery and a super cinematic, hazy glow. These images could have come straight out of the movies and I am absolutely delighted with how they turned out.
Everyone partied long into the night. With the festivities in full swing we didn’t pack away until nearly 11pm!
