The Day

Dean & Sharon recently got married at The Venue, Halifax and what an incredible day it was! Sandwiched between two days of rain, the clouds parted for a beautiful sunny day in Halifax at the former industrial textiles mill.

We started the day with a relaxed morning getting ready. Sharon and her bridesmaid daughters prepared at Over The Bridge, in Ripponden. The Venue was the location for both the ceremony and reception. Once I’d photographed the prep (including a quick visit from the groom and his best man!) it was time to head over for venue shots ahead of the I Do’s.

We made the most of the good weather and headed outside for photographs, before the guests sat down for food. The Venue has a beautiful bridge over the river onto a small island with gazebo and festoon lighting, perfect for beautiful images.

Heading into the evening, the venue was transformed to a fantastic dance floor. Once the one-of-a-kind Yorkshire spectacular – a pork-pie and cheese wheel tiered wedding cake had been cut, it was time for the first dance! As I was leaving well into the night, the dance floor was full. Guests were tucking into pork pie with one of the 15 or so relishes on offer!
