I recently began working with Fuel Hub to photograph their monthly food menu. Fuel Hub are the Warrington based go-to nutrition partner for elite sports clubs and athletes. Alongside this they have a thriving direct-to-consumer model delivering to homes nationwide. Their menu changes every month and is designed and prepped by their in-house chefs.

Fuel Hub is also dedicated to sustainability with a zero waste policy. From eco-packaging to an ultra efficient, state-of-the-art kitchen. Their aim is to be leaders in the field, constantly looking for ways to create incredible, healthy meals while supporting the planet.

With full menu photoshoots like these, I tend to shoot tethered to my computer. As always, I use the Tether Tools cable, which means the image transfer is practically instantaneous and really stable. It’s really handy to have the USB-C version too which plugs straight into all the different devices I use. This means the images I shoot are available to be viewed immediately. However switching to Apple’s M-Chip MacBooks means that I have frustratingly lost the ability to use this feature as they are not yet compatible. This did, however, give me the opportunity to trial shooting tethered to my iPad instead.

Being able to pick up and pass the tablet so easily around everyone as we discuss the plating and styling is so helpful. The team can then work from all around the shoot area rather than being stuck in one part of the room. It also means we’re able to move through each dish’s images and make selections on which photographs will make the final edit without delay.

Have a look at the gallery below, these dishes are now all live on their site to order!
