Jordan and Clare were looking for somewhere a little different to do their engagement photoshoot. We decided to go off the beaten track behind the stunning Swinton Park Hotel, up to the Druids Temple near their Bivouac site.

The Swinton Park estate spans an incredible 20,000 acres, and the Druids Temple is actually known as a Folly. This means it’s been built primarily for decoration, rather than an actual purpose. It’s said the Danby family (who owned the estate) used the construction as a means by which to pay the struggling local townsfolk a wage for their labour!

Working around the great British weather, we met in the evening and meant for some lovely soft, golden sun through the forest trees! Jordan & Clare had fun with poses and did really well in front of camera.

It was also an interesting shoot from my behalf as the large stone formations gave me logistical challenges and resulted in being stood 20ft high on top of one of the structures in order to get the right angle for the shot!

Jordan and Clare are currently planning their wedding in Spring next year at The Hawkhills, Easingwold. It’s a stunning 18th Century stately home that I regularly photograph weddings at, as their preferred supplier.
