This weekend I caught up with one of my wedding couples, Clare and Peter to photograph their engagement photoshoot. They’re getting married at the impressive Rudding Park near Harrogate.

This is a relaxed session, included within the cost of every wedding booking. It’s a great chance for us to get to know one another. We’ll be spending most of your wedding day together so it helps for us to be comfortable and familiar!

It also gives you the opportunity to spend some time in front of the camera without all the stress of the wedding. I always make sure these sessions are really relaxed as most couples aren’t very comfortable in front of a camera for extended periods.

For Clare and Peter, we chose to head to the Reservoir at Osmotherley. Not only is it a beautiful location, but it’s also where they met for their very first date so had a lot of personal significance too. The perfect place to make some stunning memories! We’d watched the weather with trepidation in the week leading up as forecasts weren’t looking favourable, however at the last minute luck swung our way and the clouds parted for a gorgeous day.

Your engagement photoshoot can be booked anytime between the initial consultation through to the wedding. Couples often utilise it for several different reasons. Some like to use the images we make to create save-the-date cards or invitations. Other couples like to plan the session closer to the wedding date. This means they still have the confidence of the experience fresh on the wedding day.
